We couldn’t do what we do here at Eye Associates without our wonderful, dedicated eye care team. We are truly a family at Eye Associates - we love what we do and have fun doing it together.
Meet Aldo Rodrigo Velazquez-Alanis, our Employee of the Quarter and one of the friendly faces you’ll see at our Prairie Village location. In his role as an optician, Aldo brings warmth, knowledge, and a genuine love for helping others. Whether he’s guiding patients through exams or sharing tips on eye protection, Aldo always leads with kindness and curiosity.

Briefly describe what you do:
I help with comprehensive eye exams and provide excellent customer service.
What do you like best about working for Eye Associates?
I find the anatomy of the eye interesting and helping people to have a clear sight.
What is your personal motto?
I live by the “Golden Rule“.
What do you like to do when you're not in the office?
My happy place is seeing my kids doing their outside school activities.
What is one thing that almost no one knows about you, or would be surprised to know?
I played Rugby in high school and we almost won state my Junior Year.
Best vacation you ever took or best memory of anything you have, and why?
I enjoy renting a large SUV and hitting the road with my family. But my favorite would have to be a place with an ocean view.
Favorite thing to do in Kansas City?
Dancing, sports events, and hikes with my German Shepherd.
What are you proudest of?
My mother.
What is the most common question you get from patients?
“Are you new?”
What is one thing everyone should do to take care of their eyes?
Use eye protection if needed at your job or working in your yard.
What is one thing on your bucket list?
Hike the Pacific Trail and drive an army tank.
