Fall 2025 Scholarship Winner Leyonna Watson

We are proud to introduce our latest scholarship winner, Leyonna Watson, a dedicated Biology major student who is passionate about women’s health and empowerment. 

She has shared with us her future plans as an OB-GYN and we were inspired by her resilience and persistence in achieving her dreams. In her own words: “My setbacks don’t define me; my persistence does. Every challenge I’ve faced has taught me to stay focused, humble, and determined to keep moving forward.”

When asked why she deserves this scholarship grant, she shared, “Eye Associates should select me for this scholarship because I embody the values of compassion, perseverance, and service. I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about titles-it's about impact. My life has been centered around helping others, even when I didn’t have much myself. That mindset carries over into everything I do, from how I treat people to how I approach my education. My dream is to take that same energy into my profession as an OB-GYN-to be a doctor who listens, uplifts, and empowers women to take control of their health and futures.”
 
To support dedicated and enthusiastic students such as Leyonna, Eye Associates annually awards two Nicholas A. Pennipede Memorial Scholarships—one in the spring and one in the fall. This initiative helps lessen the financial strain of tuition and fees, reflecting Eye Associates' commitment to academic and personal growth.
