Raised in Harrisonville, Missouri, Dr. Bartimus attended the University of Missouri at Columbia, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1998. Four years later, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago with her Doctor of Optometry degree. She completed her post-doctoral residency in pediatrics/binocular vision.

 

While at the Illinois Eye Institute and the University of Chicago, she received specialty training in the following areas: infant and toddler vision care, treatment of binocular vision, and evaluation of learning-related visual problems.

Dr. Bartimus has presented information from this training to the American Academy of Optometry and has given lectures to many other health care professionals and educators. She is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, Tomb and Key Fraternity, and Gold Key. Dr. Bartimus is licensed to practice in Illinois, Kansas, and Missouri. She is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Bartimus, husband, John, and daughters all reside in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
